FWD:

The design

And we're not telling you what it's the design for!

Kitchen island... it's since been primed and painted :D

And at the end of the day, that wall was finished and beautiful. :D That Crys* does a heck of a job on drywall and tile..... if I could just farm her out I could quit working all together.

South side is well over half done... and the ramp on the east is complete too!! :D

This is about as far as we got on Sunday and it's gotten no further by Tuesday night. :D We'll probably be hitting it hard again tomorrow night, and through the weekend. Not much time left to get it put together! Monday was spend on other wedding prep and tonight I did a bunch of other stuff.... brought home a ton bale of rye grass for the goats and unloaded it, worked on the bridge, moved wood from the pile to the deck, rearranged cars and placed them properly for wedding parking day, and worked out a plan for moving the portapotties. Crys* is out meeting with the nice lady that's gonna perform our ceremony and she's bringing home dinner.

Now if there were just two of me I might get half of it done on time.......

when they say a truckload... they mean it!

The Wood Boys in Center, Colorado deliver wood by the truckload. They say 17 cords for $1500 and the driver said this one pulled like an 18 cord weight. They delivered and unloaded with a log picker and put it all just where we asked them to. Wonderful, polite people who made sure to thank us for our business. I highly recommend their service, the wood is good lodgepole pine and is dry dry dry.

In other news, we're working on the deck to try to get it done before the wedding in two weeks (ok, a day less than two weeks but don't tell my nervous need-to-get-everything-done-stressy-self). Our friend Tim is out helping like crazy. I've no idea why he's so nice and helpful but it's a life saver when we're under the gun. He helped us get the power house done last fall too.

Yesterday we finished framing up the south 68 feet of deck, 10 feet wide, and Tim got the deck boards on about 30 feet of it. Crys was working drywall and tile in the house and after Tim left for some much needed prime rib, she finished screwing down the deck boards that were down while I framed up the East pass through deck and around the corner to the north side. This morning I'll finish the 40 feet of the north side framing and then frame up the handicap ramp on the east side.

Then we'll see how many deck boards we can slam down on the sucker before dark.

and there is still a whole heaping lot to do.......

but we know we have firewood for 3 or 4 years now and that's a good thing. Now I just have to block and split it........

Workin away

Last night we were up until 10:30 working, then dinner then finally to bed.

Got the joists up on the front 60 feet of deck, and Crys* got the tile laid in for the kitchen counters.

It's a bit of a race at this point

Who needs youngsters? :D

Not us this week anyway!

Crys* got out there and pounded in T posts while I was out working for the man. :D SO the T posts are up, and we have the wire and wood posts. Hopefully they'll get pounded in this weekend and we can get the fence strung. It's not terribly important to have the barn up until sometime in October so I can put out fires somewhere else while I wait for the barn raising materials and such to fall into place. When you're doing things on a shoestring you have to be a little patient. (So not our strong suit)

The rest of the weekend is going to be deck and counters. The wood is here for most of the deck. That would be 125 linear feet of decking, most of it 10 feet wide. We're gonna do the last 45 feet later on but try to get the posts set so that even if it's cold we can get it done in the winter. (yeah right, in Winter we'll hibernate, see shows and play damnit!)

My friend Tim is coming out today to help, he's an amazing amount of help anytime he shows up. He's retired and I hope to have that much energy when I get into my 60's.

The wedding date is September 3, which happens to be exactly 3 weeks away. I better drink this coffee fast and get my butt to work!
