A couple posts down we referenced our laid back weekend. It was good, movies and naps and muffins and sleepy kitties and dogs.
And peas and dumplings. :D
(I think she looks like a super hero)
The dark of night does not come after the golden glow of the day's sun but before it.
We are Living Out Loud... and loving our lives together.

We moved about 3,000 bricks this week that had been salvaged from a decommissioned steam power plant several years ago. Crys* and I dug all these damned things outta the snow and hauled them from Alamosa to Monte Vista. They sat there on pallets until this weekend when we trucked them up here to Gypsy's Rest. We plan to start the kiln building either Memorial Day or the 4th of July. Should be a heck of a party yall.
This pic was of Crys* sitting on the pile while I drove up with the last load. The last one was a wee bit overloaded (understatement), but it held up till I got here. It was a terrible mess of a pile of crap all jumbled over itself. We got it sorted out and now they'll just acclimate to the place until we and friends make them into a wood/salt/glassagama.
Muffins and movies
3,000 bricks.
Oh my GOD that took forever to move. It ended with a wonderful warm bath in our big tub with chocolate and wine.
We were gonna go throw pots today, because we need some new plates, but it was just too tempting to sit here and enjoy our home and each other.
Back to work tomorrow. Starting to look very forward to retirement. I's tired. And....... by the way..... no one is more beautiful in a nap than Crys*

We were lucky enough to have Autum spend Friday night with us after the Art Thing meeting where we all got our "bags o stuff" to build our recycled project out of. The weekend has been great, lots of snow, lots of house cleaning, we got a bunch of art work hung all over the house so it feels a lot more homey now. :D Crys* and Autum worked on their electric guitar lessons while I made biscuits and gravy Saturday morning. That was fun, had to make the kid put the guitar down to eat twice. LOTS of snow this weekend even though none of it made it to the valley floor. We were the first ones down the road this morning when we went to meet Pablo for breakfast at Movie Manor. That was great. :D
So we end up the weekend with a long hot bath (no candles this time) some Heros season two, I "heart" Huckabees which was good and a long nights sleep. I'm off tomorrow, might start moving some bricks.
And the burns are almost healed.
Sleep good babies.

FWD:
We sat at an upstairs table right out side our room at The Old Taos Inn. This was one of the best weekends ever. <3
Friday night started it off with friends coming over for a wonderful dinner we made and shared finished off with apple eiswine. Then Crys* and I exchanged valentines gifts. I got chocolate and my very own KINDLE!!!!!!!!!! She got....... a prize a night through the week and stuff I'm not allowed to talk about in public. But she liked 'em.
Then we slept in for a little bit Saturday morning. Got up and motivated after coffee and headed down through Espanola toward the Black Mesa Winery. We stopped at JoAnn's in Espanola for brunch. They have the best selection for vegetarians around, and breakfast goes all day! Then it was on to the winery for an open barrel tasting. It was fun. Supposedly you pay $10 and do the barrel taste, then inside it's $7 for wine tasting on stuff already bottled. The nice man there, Mike, let us taste all 13 and told us to keep the glasses :D. There's nice people everywhere if you let 'em be themselves.
From there we went on to Taos where we checked into the Old Taos Inn and headed over to Eske's, a restaurant that Crys* loves. We had a couple beers with our fab dinner and then headed back to the hotel for a bottle of wine on a private deck overlooking the live music playing below. Crys* brought these really fun valentines glasses and it was wonderful.
Slept in a little the next morning and went to Michael's for breakfast (which was wonderful too!) and then we trucked on home. Here we cleaned and cut wood and worked on the place a bit. Now watching some TV and relaxing. Life is good.

George Clinton and the P-Funk Allstars
George Clinton and the P-Funk All Stars were Fabulous last night. There was an hour and a half of a really fun mix DJ called DJ Blaq who did the whole show with a Mac and a mixing board, he partied and danced all the way through. Then the main event came on and blew the roof off the sucker. They went till nearly midnight, rocking the fuck outta the place the whole way through. Funny, you can tell they LOVE Denver. Not sure if it has anything to do with the high grade medical marijuana doobies flying up onto the stage, or the costumes in the audience or the fun set up at the Fillmore Theatre. But they party the whole damned way through. After the show we got fries and a frosty from Wendy's.
We're lounging a bit in bed before hitting some Denver and then heading home. It's good.
